Hearing Aid Fittings

Your level of hearing is nearly as unique as your fingerprint, and it’s important that your hearing aids are adjusted to your specific needs. Once you’ve selected a pair of hearing aids, your audiologist will program them to match the precise frequencies that you need amplified to hear better. Together, you and your audiologist will find the perfect settings for the most comfortable listening experience.

During your hearing aid fitting, we’ll also discuss the best ways to care for and maintain your hearing aids. Tips on cleaning, inserting and removing your batteries, and general use will be discussed. Like a complex machine, your hearing aids will need appropriate care in order to last for years to come.

When you begin wearing hearing aids, it can take some time to get used to them. Your brain will need to adjust to processing long-lost sounds once again, and as it acclimates to your new devices, some follow-up adjustments by your audiologist will be helpful. Once you’ve fully acclimated to your new hearing aids, we encourage regular hearing check-ups to ensure that your instruments continue to perform their best.

At Kitsap Audiology, our team is focused on your success. The hearing aid fitting process is an important step on the journey to better hearing, and we’ll take the time necessary to make sure you are comfortable and confident with your new devices.
